The South Asian Social Justice Network in Calgary is making significant strides in advocating for social justice within the community. Currently in Phase 4, the project has brought together 16 nonprofit organizations that focus on addressing key issues faced by South Asians, particularly marginalized women, youth, and seniors.
Through collaborative meetings, these organizations have expressed solidarity and committed to the network’s goals by signing a terms of reference. They’re sharing best practices and resources, which is essential for building capacity and influencing policies at various levels.
The project will continue its meetings until January, culminating in a comprehensive report that will outline the main issues and recommendations for future action. Stay tuned for more updates as this important work progresses!
