We want to hear about the challenges South Asian community members face.

South Asians are one of the fastest-growing communities in the Greater Toronto Area, yet reliable, up-to-date information on the realities they face—in healthcare, housing, education, employment and community life—remains limited. This research will help inform priorities, initiatives and partnerships that genuinely reflect the experiences, needs and strengths of South Asian communities.

About the study

This research is being carried out in two parts. First, we will engage directly with the community through a survey and focus groups and gather existing data on South Asians across Toronto, Peel and York Region. We will then translate the findings into a clear set of priorities and recommendations that CASSA and partner organizations can act on.

Core areas: Healthcare Access & Equity; Housing Affordability & Access; Education & Learning Opportunities; Employment, Skills & Economic Empowerment; and Art, Culture & Community Engagement.
