COVID-19 Helpline for South Asians

The Covid-19 Helpline is funded by the Government of Canada and United Way Greater Toronto and managed by the Council of Agencies Serving South Asians, in partnership with the South Asian Legal Clinic of Ontario, Tamil Canadian Centre for Civic Action, Bangladeshi Canadian Community Services, South Asian Women’s Rights Organization, and Punjabi Community Health Services.

The Helpline provides information about health & safety during COVID-19, details on the reopening process, government benefits, and support services available to communities in English, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Bangla, and Punjabi.

Recorded information is available on the helpline 24/7. Live Intake Specialists are available on a set schedule every week.

Apna Health

Apna Health connects South Asian community members to culturally appropriate information & resources in their language(s).

For more information related to COVID-19 and connecting to other resources, please visit Apna Health – a partnership committed to the South Asian community’s health and wellness. Apna Health is a joint partnership between three strong South Asian community-based non-profit organizations – Indus Community Services (Indus)Punjabi Community Health Services (PCHS), and the Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA).

Our community ambassadors and volunteers are working relentlessly towards supporting at-risk community members and catering to the specific needs of the South Asian community pertaining to COVID-19.
